The 23rd Iranian Epilepsy Congress will be held from January 12 to 14, 2027, at the Iran International Conference Center.
A scientific event that, with a future-oriented perspective this year, will discuss the latest developments and achievements in the field of epilepsy from the viewpoints of diagnosis, treatment, imaging, neuropsychology, and multidisciplinary care.
Epilepsy is not just a seizure disorder; it is a complex disease where correct diagnosis, precise determination of the seizure type and focus, selection of appropriate treatment, and assessment of its cognitive and psychological consequences require close collaboration between various fields of neuroscience.
Therefore, one of the key themes of this congress will be strengthening multidisciplinary approaches and shared decision-making in the management of patients with epilepsy; an approach that can further bridge the gap between diagnosis and personalized treatment.
In this congress, prominent national experts and specialists will gather to review the latest findings in electrophysiology and EEG, advanced brain imaging, neuropsychology, differential diagnosis, pharmacological treatments, and epilepsy surgery, and will discuss and exchange views on the complex challenges existing in the path of patient diagnosis and treatment.
But perhaps one of the most exciting parts of this edition is the stronger entry of artificial intelligence into the field of epilepsy. Today, artificial intelligence is changing our perspective on complex medical data; from analyzing EEG signals and identifying subtle seizure patterns to processing brain images, assisting in determining the epileptic focus, and predicting and analyzing treatment response.
The 23rd Iranian Epilepsy Congress will be an opportunity to examine the important question of how artificial intelligence, alongside physician expertise, can transform the future of care for patients with epilepsy. Additionally, the scientific, ethical, and clinical challenges of using these technologies will also be addressed.
The presence of prominent Iranian professors and speakers, the presentation of the latest scientific and clinical achievements, and the provision of opportunities for direct dialogue between specialists from different fields will turn this congress into a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and the formation of new ideas. This congress is an opportunity for the Iranian epilepsy scientific community to collectively see this future more clearly, talk about it, and contribute to its creation.
